'Nación Rock'

This documentary shows the history of rock music in Colombia from the 60's to the year '95. I wanted to post something like this before, but the only material I found only had the first part without mentioning much about hard rock and metal. This material, on the other hand, is more complete, and I think it is a good introduction to begin to know about our roots in the rock culture. Enjoy it!

'Nación Rock'

'Nación Rock' shows the incursion and take over of an international genre in Colombia, that constituted a reference of identity for the young and made them involved actors in society.



This is a project of the Secretary of Culture, Recreation and Sports of the city of Bogotá, Rock al Parque and the Culture Minister, through the National Museum of Colombia

888 Metal - Documental Sobre REENCARNACION

Here we have a documentary about part of the history of metal music in Colombia, especifically from Medellin. During the 80's some local bands began to create a more extreme metal compared to the traditional heavy metal that had been around the city for some time already. Among those bands we have Parabellum and Reencarnacion.

Athanator: Death, Blood and Metal

This is a documentary on the thrash metal band Athanator released by 'Ataque Sonoro' for 'Señal Colombia' (cutural tv channel). Directed by Giovanny Rendón with the support of the University of Medellín and produced by 'Discovery Networks'. Unfortunately it is only available in Spanish without subtitles.
